Reduction of Government Fees for Small and Micro Entities

The United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) has announced discounts of 60 percent for small entity applicants and discounts of 80 percent for micro entity applicants in government fees. Previously, small and micro entity applicants received respective discounts of 50 percent and 75 percent in government fees.

The change is based on the Unleashing American Innovators Act which was part of the Consolidated Appropriations Act and signed into law on December 29, 2022.
